If you just want to post long text articles on the Fediverse, a good option is @writefreely which has an official website at:

writefreely.org

It features a minimalist interface to avoid distracting from the text itself, and is sort of like a Fediverse alternative to Medium.

Because it's part of the Fediverse, you can follow WriteFreely accounts from Mastodon etc.

You can find sites to sign up on at:

writefreely.org/instances

It works entirely through your web browser, or you can use an app from writefreely.org/apps

Thanks to the latest updates, if you have an @owncast instance you can now connect it to the Fediverse! 🥳

The Fediverse support is switched off by default, but you can switch it on very easily. Once it's activated, people on Mastodon etc will be able to follow your OwnCast account and be notified when you're livestreaming.

To activate Fediverse support on your OwnCast instance, make sure you have the software updated to at least 0.0.11, then go to Configuration > Social. There are more details about it at owncast.online/docs/social

(OwnCast is a free open self-hostable alternative to Twitch, a livestreaming platform with a chat system built in. More info at owncast.online )
